Black Magic
With most of the attack spells, the "level" is intensity and how damaging it is; any given level can be either restricted to a single target/small area, or spread out over a fairly decent spread.
Note that he can do basically non-damaging "cantrip" level effects with any of these that aren't dangerous beyond maybe bruises/light burns/whatever and annoyance, or things like lighting candles, heating/cooling food, etc.
*- Blizzard/Blizzara/Blizzaga - Ice-based attacks; target area is filled with intense cold, as well as basically moisture condensed into hail/ice shards. Blizzara/Blizzaga do conjure some of the barrage.
*- Fire/Fira/Firaga - Fire/heat based attack.
*- Thunder/Thundara/Thundaga - Electricity.
*- Demi - Gravity manipulation. Used as an attack, it's basically a crushing gravity well centered on the target, though he can use it to move objects/do other stupid tricks.
*- Flare - Raw energy burst; there really ISN'T a cantrip version, since it's "I'M GOING TO NUKE THINGS NOW" power release.
*- Sleep - Self-explanatory and fairly potent.
*- Water - Conjures water that can be controlled for a certain period. Used as an attack, it holds a sphere of water around the target, doing damage via pressure and drowning.
White Magic
These can be spread over multiple targets, although it's less an area effect and more a sort of "multicast".
*- Cure/Cura/Curaga - varying levels of healing spells. Curaga is pretty much "You can be badly maimed and as long as you're still alive he can heal it". Cannot heal damage caused by Phantasms.
*- Dispel - Removes protections or beneficial magic off the target.
*- Esuna - Cleansing spell; removes poisons/toxins/drugs and harmful magic from target.
*- Float - Levitation. He's actually damn good with it, enough to use it as a minor sort of flight effect, although he can't really travel/get too impressive altitude out of it; probably equivalent of reaching a second story window.
*- Holy - Burst of holy/light energy used as an attack. Less effective than most of the "black" magic against living targets, ineffective against anything light-being or divine. Mostly meant for use against undead and darkness-based creatures.
*- Protect - Shield spell that buffers out physical damage; it basically functions to absorb the force of any given physical harm, focused mostly on just raw injury trauma.
*- Reflect - Reflects back other magic and energy-based damage at the source.
*- Shell - buffers out magic and energy-based damage; heat, electricity, cold, etc.
*- Silence - You can't speak/make any sort of sound. If you have any special powers, they're cancelled out for the duration, as well.
*- Blind - Temporary blindness.
*- Confuse - That ability to focus/keep coherent trains of thought/properly identify objects and people around you? It's a craps shoot for duration. Probably akin to a bad acid trip.
*- Light - Cantrip type "It's a glowing orb for light!" effect. He can make multiple orbs and control them at will pretty much; they're harmless, can be attached to an object/wall/person, and don't do much other than make it easier to see and maybe annoy nocturnal things and the light-sensitive.
His "Fuck the climate I wear what I want" cantrip doesn't really fall under either. As it functions in the house, it basically makes it so that he won't get frostbite/heatstroke from the temperature changes in the house. Unfortunately, while he's safe, it doesn't mean he doesn't feel it here, so he'll still be cold/hot and miserable with the rest of you.
