Good evening, Johto - I have a few questions, and as much as I would prefer solving this on my own, I find myself with a lack of background knowledge.

[He shifts the gear so that Karma, the Feebas, is a little more in view.]

I admit, I know very little about his species, but as far as I've known in the past, if a creature looks like it's a few moments from clawing out of a grave in search of the flesh of the living, it's generally a sign of ill health, which has me loathe to push the creature and aggravate any conditions. I'm well prepared to put time into finding a way to improve whatever is wrong... but it seems more prudent to swallow pride and ask about any pitfalls, or if anyone has any experience with similar creatures - the last thing I want to do is end up making things worse.

I tried to convince him of that when I first arrived here; this is the best I can do on short notice - he's followed me out across land before and jumped out of the water to try to keep up.

Apparently fish here can survive out of water. []

I suspect the standards of "orthodox" for this place are quite different from what either of us are used to.

[Cecil is somewhat torn between OH SHIT IT'S A KUJA GET IN THE CAR!!!!... and Awww, Feebas. Awww, Feebas ends up winning.]

Feebas learn a damaging attack in their teens; until then, you'll have to make it battle alongside another Pokémon. Their evolution also takes some work, though there might be an alternate way.

Hmm. I haven't been sending him out as yet since it seemed pointless, but if that's true then I might have to...

How do they come to evolve?

I'm... not quite certain, to be honest. Leviathan did so in a manner that reminded me of happiness-induced evolutions, but there were a few unexplainable differences. And when all of those new items were put on sale, she started pointing at one of the pictures incessantly. My Clefairy did the same, and it turned out she wanted an item that would allow her to evolve.

Then I'd imagine that unless we can gain access to one of these items, working to improve his condition might be the best option for that, as well.

A few weeks of work should be enough to afford it. Should you choose to try and keep him happy, massages are particularly effective.

Well, one way or the other, it should be manageable - if the universe has decided to test me, then the least I can do is make an attempt. []

At least they finally decided to put all those items on sale. It used to be that we had to win them in a Bug Catching Contest.

Yes, indeed. We've been staying at the centers, mostly; I believe Ritz is out training, I've been taking advantage of the larger city to see what else I could find for this one. []

If I were back home, I'd be leery of casting a Cure on it for fear it'd hurt the creature.

I don't think there is a cure for that kind of...fish.

Apparently a number of these creatures will "evolve" and change; that's currently what I'm hoping for.

...Or at least getting it looking a little less...dead.

Yeah, evolution might be your best bet. Although uh....I think most get uglier when they evolve, so....
